Shuaibu Rabiu Sworn in as Kano Rep After By-Election Victory

Shuaibu Rabiu was officially sworn in as a member of the House of Representatives representing the Dawakin Kudu/Wara constituency in Kano State following a successful by-election. The swearing-in ceremony took place under the administration of Speaker Abba Tajudeen.

Rabiu's election was necessitated by the vacancy created by the death of the former representative, Muhammad Danjuma Hassan. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducted the by-election on June 20, in accordance with Section 76(2) of the 1999 Constitution, which mandates elections to fill vacancies in the National Assembly that occur within three months of the expiration of the House's tenure.

Rabiu, a candidate from the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged victorious with a total of 35,356 votes, defeating his opponent from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
