APC Wins Ohunbe By-election in Ogun State

The All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious in the Ohunbe by-election held in Yewa North Local Government Area, Ogun State. The election saw participation from 19 political parties across 24 polling units in Ohunbe Ward 8.

The results indicated that Kabiru Oyeyemi of the APC received 2,255 votes out of a total of 3,263 votes cast. The election commenced at 8:00 AM, with various security agencies deployed to maintain peace and order throughout the exercise.

The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) Chairman, Osibodu, described the election as peaceful and orderly, commending the electorate for their commitment to electing a new councillor to represent local government interests. Ayodel Bankol, the OGSIEC board member, also praised the electoral officials and security personnel for their professionalism during the process.

The election was characterized as smooth, free, and credible.
