APC Wins Ungogo and Kano Municipal Bye-Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) achieved victories in the Ungogo and Kano Municipal bye-elections. Aliyu Nabil Daneji won the Kano Municipal constituency with 7,484 votes, while Aminu Sa'ad clinched the Ungogo constituency with 8,975 votes.

The results were announced by Professor Ibrahim Tajo Siraj and Professor Ali Tijjani Abdullahi, respectively. Ambassador Abdu Zango, representing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), noted a significant low voter turnout, attributing it to factors such as Ramadan and general apathy towards the elections.

Despite the low participation, Zango described the electoral process as peaceful, with no reported incidents of violence or security breaches. He emphasized that the absence of major opposition parties, including the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC), did not lead to any formal complaints to INEC.

The elections were conducted in a calm atmosphere, with Zango commending citizens for their responsible behavior during the polls.
