APC's Mose Opeisa Wins Ohunbe Ward 8 By-Election

The recent by-election for Ohunbe Ward 8 in Ogun State was won by Mose Opeisa of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received 2,255 votes from a total of 3,263 votes cast. The election took place across 24 polling units in the Yewa North Local Government Area.

The exercise commenced at 8:00 AM, with security agencies deployed to maintain peace and order. Kabiru Oyeyemi, the returning officer for the ward, declared Opeisa the winner after the exercise concluded.

Babatunde Osibodu, the chairman of the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), described the election as peaceful and orderly, commending the people of Ohunbe for their commitment to electing a new councillor to represent their interests. Ayodel Bankol, a board member of OGSIEC, and Adekola Oladokun, the traditional ruler of Ohunbe, also expressed appreciation for the smooth and credible conduct of the election.
