APC Wins 16 of 18 Chairmanship Seats in Ondo LG Polls

In the Ondo State local government elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious in 16 out of 18 chairmanship seats. The Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) declared the results at its headquarters in Akure.

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) withdrew from the elections, citing concerns over the credibility of the electoral process. Twelve political parties participated, including the APC, PDP, and others.

The elections were rescheduled in Ondo West LGA, with results pending in Owo LGA. The tenure of the elected council officials is expected to last until August 2023, with the next elections set for January 2025.
