APC’s Umar-Sani Wins Basawa Constituency By-Election

APC's Umar-Sani emerged as the winner of the Basawa Constituency by-election, as announced by the Zaria Returning Officer, Nasiru Rabiu, on Sunday. Umar-Sani, representing the All Progressives Congress, secured the highest number of votes, defeating his closest rival Muazu Danyaro of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The results confirmed Umar-Sani's victory with a significant margin. DanBala Usman of the Social Democratic Party came in third with 811 votes, while Mahmuda Almustapha of the Action Democratic Congress garnered 146 votes.

Despite 18 political parties initially cleared for the election, only four eventually fielded candidates, as revealed by the INEC Returning Officer. Umar-Sani's win in the by-election marks a significant political development in the Basawa Constituency.
