APM Demands Transparency on Subsidy Removal Impact

The All Peoples Movement (APM) has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to publish a verifiable impact assessment of the subsidy removal, highlighting the negative effects on the Nigerian populace. APM, represented by Abubakar Yusuf, stated that the removal has exacerbated economic hardship and increased poverty rates over the past three years.

Despite significant funds accruing to the federal government from the subsidy removal, APM noted that the cost of living has not improved, and infrastructure deficits remain high, estimated at $2-3 trillion. The party criticized the APC-led administration for failing to provide transparent accounts of the funds, accusing it of corruption and mismanagement.

APM emphasized the need for a comprehensive public report detailing the total savings from the subsidy removal and how these funds have been utilized to benefit citizens. The party insists that genuine reforms should translate into tangible improvements in the lives of Nigerians, rather than mere statistical claims.
