APM Terminals Apapa Launches Lagos Port Clean-Up Initiative

APM Terminals Apapa has intensified its environmental sustainability efforts by organizing a large-scale clean-up of key access roads within the Lagos Port Complex. This initiative is part of the company’s 2026 Go Green Week and involved employees clearing waste from major corridors linking various port areas.

The clean-up included the removal of plastic materials, nylon packaging, wooden planks, bottles, stones, and other debris. Officials from the Nigerian Ports Authority participated, showcasing collaboration among port stakeholders to improve sanitation and operational efficiency.

The clean-up is part of APM Terminals’ annual global Go Green Week campaign, which aims for net-zero operations by 2040. This year’s campaign theme is “Healthy Ecosystems… More Resilient and Sustainable Business.” Kamal Alhraishat, Managing Director of APM Terminals Apapa, stated that the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint.

Other sustainability efforts included planting frangipani plants and Pride of Barbados seeds and organizing an environmental town hall session for employees.
