Wike Inspects Apo-Karshi Road Project, Calls It a Dream

On Saturday, Barr Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), inspected the ongoing Apo-Karshi road project, calling it “a dream come true” for residents seeking better access. He praised SCC Nigeria Limited for continuing work despite outstanding payments and expressed confidence that the FCT Administration would meet its financial obligations to the contractor.

Wike also inspected the 14-kilometre Bwari-Kubwa road, which is part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, with the contractor assuring completion by December. Both projects are integral to a broader FCT strategy aimed at enhancing infrastructure and stimulating economic activity in satellite towns and underserved communities.

Wike linked the infrastructure initiatives to the upcoming 2027 general elections, stating that completed projects are the best indicators of government performance. He noted that over 10 major FCT projects could be ready for commissioning before 2027, significantly impacting economic activities and daily life in Abuja.
