FCT Minister Wike Promises Apo-Karshi Road Completion

On Saturday, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike inspected the progress of the 13.5-kilometre Apo-Karshi road and the 14-kilometre Bwari-Kubwa road in Abuja. The Apo-Karshi road, first awarded more than ten years ago, has been a significant source of frustration for residents due to traffic congestion.

The original contract was terminated due to prolonged delays and re-awarded to SCC Nigeria Ltd, which Wike stated has the capacity to complete the project. He commended the contractor for continuing work despite funding challenges and assured that the FCT Administration would fulfill its financial obligations.

Wike also inspected the Bwari-Kubwa road, expected to be completed by December. He emphasized that infrastructure delivery is a key indicator of effective governance and expressed confidence that the FCT Administration would exceed its initial target of ten projects scheduled for inauguration, with several major road and infrastructure projects nearing completion across the territory.
