Wike Promises Completion of Apo-Karshi Road by 2026

Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that the 13-kilometer Apo-Karshi road, which has been abandoned since its initial award in 2011, will be completed by the end of 2026. Wike made this assurance during the commissioning of the reconstruction of the Arab Gbazango road in the Kubwa Bwari Area Council on a Friday.

The project was originally awarded to Kakatar Engineering Limited for a contract sum of N6.4 billion, but it remained incomplete for fourteen years. Wike stated that the contract was terminated and re-awarded to SCC Construction Company, which is expected to commence work soon.

He emphasized the importance of the road for alleviating traffic congestion in the area and noted that the completion of the Apo-Karshi road would coincide with the third anniversary of Tinubu's presidency. Wike also mentioned that the Bwari-Kubwa road would be completed within the same timeframe.
