APP Commends INEC for Primaries Timetable Amendment

The All Progressives Party (APP) has praised the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Moham Kudu Haruna, for the recent amendment to the primaries timetable, describing it as a confidence-building step. The new timetable was announced in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja, following consultations with political party leaders earlier in the week.

This decision reflects INEC's commitment to an inclusive approach to electoral management. The commission urged political parties to strictly adhere to the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026, which outlines clear timelines and guidelines for party activities as they prepare for the 2027 general elections.

The APP, represented by its National Chairman Uch Nnadi, noted that the adjustment demonstrates INEC's willingness to listen to stakeholders and act in the overall interest of credible and transparent elections. The party further called on political parties to utilize the extended timeline responsibly to ensure that the internal processes reflect democratic ideals of fairness and transparency.
