Tim Cook Steps Down as Apple CEO, John Ternus Takes Over

Tim Cook has announced his decision to step down as CEO of Apple after nearly 15 years in the role, with the transition scheduled to take effect on September 1. Cook will move to the position of executive chairman.

John Ternus, who is currently the head of hardware engineering at Apple, will assume the role of CEO. Cook, who joined Apple in 1998 and was appointed CEO in 2011 following the passing of co-founder Steve Jobs, has led the company through significant growth and expansion of its product and service offerings, enhancing its global influence in the technology industry.

In his announcement, Cook expressed that serving as Apple's CEO has been the greatest privilege of his life and acknowledged the commitment of Apple employees to innovation and excellence. Ternus, who joined Apple in 2001, has been instrumental in the development of several flagship products, including the iPad, AirPods, and various versions of the iPhone and Apple Watch.
