Sergio Agüero Defends Manchester City Amid Financial Charges

Sergio Agüero, a former striker for Manchester City, defended the club following an independent commission's verdict on financial charges brought by the Premier League. Agüero, who played for Manchester City for a decade and became the club's all-time leading goalscorer, stated that he never witnessed any wrongdoing during his time at the club.

He described the charges as attempts to undermine Manchester City, asserting that the club's achievements were legitimate. Agüero suggested that rival clubs were behind the legal challenges due to jealousy over Manchester City's success.

The independent commission reportedly found Manchester City guilty of breaching financial rules in 114 of 115 cases, following a four-year investigation. The allegations included inaccuracies in financial information, player and manager remuneration, and failures to cooperate with the investigation.

Manchester City has consistently denied any wrongdoing and stated that significant elements of the proceedings are still ongoing.
