Army Chief Urges New Soldiers to Uphold Professionalism

On a recent occasion, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff of the Nigerian Army, addressed a group of newly inducted soldiers during a passing out parade at the Nigerian Army Depot in Zaria, Kaduna State. He tasked the 90 regular recruits to uphold professionalism, discipline, and respect for operational standards as they prepare to confront various security threats, including terrorism and banditry.

The recruits completed rigorous military training, which included counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations, equipping them with the necessary skills for modern security operations. Shaibu emphasized the importance of maintaining operational excellence and loyalty to the constitution while discharging their duties.

He cautioned the new personnel against irresponsible use of social media and unauthorized disclosures of operational information that could compromise national security. The address reflects the Nigerian Army's ongoing efforts to expand operational capacity and strengthen forces in response to modern security demands.
