Nigerian Army Clears Niger Resident of Terrorism Links

The Nigerian Army has officially cleared Aboubakar Muhammad Zein-Nur, also known as Houdairi, of any terrorism allegations. This decision followed investigations conducted by the Acting Military Information Officer of the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni.

The investigations were prompted by an interception of Zein-Nur by troops of the 68 Battalion during an operation after an attack at Cross Kauwa. Goni stated that comprehensive intelligence assessments revealed no affiliation between Zein-Nur and any known terrorist organizations.

It was confirmed that he is a resident of Shattu Anguba Village in Bosso, Republic of Niger, where he is engaged in camel rearing. The military reiterated its commitment to ensuring that civilians are not wrongly associated with terrorist activities and emphasized the importance of due process and appropriate security screening during military operations.

Operation HADIN KAI remains dedicated to counter-terrorism efforts while upholding human rights and the rule of law.
