Nigerian Army Declares Soldier Wanted for Uniform Sale

The Nigerian Army has declared Private Mohammed Yusuf Amutu wanted due to allegations of selling military uniforms to terrorists and other criminal elements without authorization. This announcement was made in a statement from the Headquarters Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps (NAOC) on Thursday.

Private Amutu, who is attached to the Nigerian Army Ordnance Kits Factory, has been absent from his duty post since June 3, 2026. The statement, signed by Major Oluwatope Dorcas Aluko, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations at NAOC Headquarters, indicated that initial findings linked Amutu to the illegal sale and distribution of military uniforms.

The Army is actively working to locate and arrest him for further investigation, and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken if the allegations are substantiated. The Army emphasized its zero tolerance for misconduct and warned that personnel involved in aiding terrorists or criminal groups through illegal activities would face severe consequences under military and civil laws.
