Army Denies Boko Haram Attack On Borno’s Kirawa Community

The Nigerian Army has denied reports of a Boko Haram attack on the Kirawa community in Borno State. The attack, initially reported by NewsCentral TV, actually took place in Kirawa, a community in the Republic of Cameroon that shares a border with Nigeria.

The incident involved Boko Haram insurgents killing at least two soldiers and raiding a military base, setting an armored tank ablaze, and stealing ammunition. The Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole clarified that the attack occurred on the Cameroonian side of the border, with Cameroonian soldiers and Nigerian troops involved in the incident.

General Abubakar shared a video and photographs of the scene, showing a destroyed operational vehicle belonging to the Cameroonian forces. He warned journalists to verify details with military authorities before publishing reports to avoid spreading misleading information.
