Nigerian Soldiers Flee To Cameroon As Boko Haram Insurgents Attack Military Base

Nigerian soldiers have reportedly fled to Cameroon after a Boko Haram attack on a military base in Abadam Local Government Area, Borno State. The insurgents allegedly killed at least two soldiers and set an armoured tank ablaze while stealing ammunition.

This incident comes after a previous attack in which 22 soldiers, including a commander, were killed. The Nigerian military has been battling Boko Haram since 2009, with reports of thousands of casualties and millions displaced in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states.

Soldiers have expressed concerns about inadequate weaponry and feeling vulnerable to the insurgents. Despite the military claiming that the terrorists are largely defeated, attacks like these highlight the ongoing threat posed by Boko Haram in the region.
