Nigerian soldiers flee to Cameroon as terrorists attack military base in Borno

A group of Nigerian soldiers reportedly fled to Cameroon after a terrorist attack on a military base in Borno State. The attack, carried out by Boko Haram fighters, resulted in the death of at least two soldiers and the destruction of an armored tank.

The militants also made off with an unspecified amount of ammunition. The soldiers attached to the battalion in Rann Kala Balge district fled to Cameroon during the fierce fighting.

This incident comes just a month after 22 soldiers, including a commander, were killed in a separate attack in Abadam Local Government Area. The Nigerian military has been battling the Boko Haram insurgency since 2009, with soldiers often facing challenges such as inadequate weaponry.

Despite claims of the terrorist group being largely defeated, they continue to launch deadly raids, causing widespread displacement and casualties in the region.
