Nigerian Army Dismantles Illegal Bunkering Site in Lagos

On Tuesday, troops from the 65 Battalion of the Nigerian Army conducted an intelligence-led operation in the Orile General Area of Lagos State, dismantling a suspected illegal bunkering site. During the operation, six suspected oil bunkerers were arrested, and four trucks, a pumping machine, and various pipes and drums believed to be used for illegal bunkering activities were recovered.

The operation was executed under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel S. Adeojo, with the details disclosed by Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 81 Division Nigerian Army.

The suspects and the recovered items were handed over to personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, for further investigation. Major General Adebayo Abdulrahman Babalola, the General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army, praised the troops for their successful operation and urged them to continue their efforts against economic sabotage and criminal activities in the area.
