Nigerian Army Dismantles Illegal Bunkering Site in Lagos

Troops of the 65 Battalion of the Nigerian Army conducted an intelligence-led operation in the Orile General Area of Lagos State, dismantling a suspected illegal bunkering site. The operation, under the leadership of Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel S.

Adeojo, resulted in the arrest of six suspected oil bunkerers. According to Lieutenant Musa Yahaya, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 81 Division Nigerian Army, the raid led to the recovery of four trucks, one pumping machine, and various pipes and drums allegedly used for illegal bunkering activities.

The suspects and the recovered items were handed over to the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for further investigation. Major General Adebayo Babalola, General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army, commended the troops for their successful operation and urged them to continue their efforts against economic sabotage and criminal activities within their area of responsibility.
