Nigerian Army Enhances Troop Welfare with New Housing

The Nigerian Army has moved soldiers to newly constructed accommodation blocks at Ribadu Cantonment in Kaduna State, aimed at improving troop welfare. The ceremony took place on Friday and was organized by the 1 Division Nigerian Army.

The project was funded by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Waidi Shuaibu, who emphasized a soldier-first command philosophy prioritizing personnel welfare as a key factor for operational efficiency. Maj Gen Abubakar Wase, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, represented the event and highlighted the need for soldiers to maintain a strong culture of preserving the new facilities.

He warned against illegal electrical connections that could damage the state-of-the-art accommodations and mentioned that defaulting personnel would face sanctions. Wase expressed appreciation for the Chief of Army Staff's funding of the project, which is critical for sustaining effective troop deployment across various operational theaters in the country.
