Nigerian Army Offers Bounty on ISWAP Leaders

The Nigerian Army has placed a bounty on the leaders of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), specifically targeting Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, the governor, and his deputy, Muhammad Jidda. This announcement was made by Captain Muhammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer for the Northeast Joint Taskforce Operation Hadin Kai, on Wednesday.

The identification of these leaders was made possible through forensic exploitation of technical devices recovered during recent offensive operations against ISWAP in the Lake Chad region of Northern Borno State. The operations yielded high-value intelligence materials, including a camcorder used for propaganda.

The Army is offering a substantial financial reward for credible information leading to the arrest of these individuals, with N50 million for Ibn Muhammad, the commander of the Amniyya unit, and N10 million for Jidda. The public is urged to report any relevant information while ensuring their safety and confidentiality.
