Nigerian Army Offers N60m Bounty for ISWAP Leaders

The Nigerian Army has placed a combined N60 million bounty on two leaders of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), specifically targeting the group's governor, Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, with a N50 million reward, and his deputy, Muhammad Jidda, with a N10 million reward. This announcement was made by Capt Muhammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer of the Northeast Joint Taskforce Operation Hadin Kai, on Wednesday.

The identities of the wanted individuals were uncovered through forensic analysis of technical devices recovered during a recent military offensive in the Lake Chad region. The military's operations yielded high-value intelligence materials, including a camcorder used for propaganda.

Goni emphasized the importance of public assistance in counter-terrorism efforts and assured that all information received would be treated confidentially, with informants protected according to security protocols.
