Nigerian Army Receives Recovered Weapons in Anambra

The Nigerian Army was formally handed over rocket launchers and other weapons, including two General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGs), recovered by the Agunechemba Security Squad in Anambra. This operation followed extensive intelligence gathering and surveillance in the Anambra South Senatorial District.

The handover occurred on Saturday at the office of the Agunechemba Security Squad's Director of Operations in Awka. Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff, commended Anambra State Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo for his support of the Agunechemba Security Squad.

Chief Chinenye Ihenko, representing the Governor’s Special Adviser on Community Security, noted the operation's success, highlighting that operatives faced an attack from suspected gunmen but completed their mission without casualties. Colonel Buteus Yakubu, Commander of the 302 Artillery Regiment, also praised the operation and reaffirmed the Nigerian Army's commitment to collaboration with the Agunechemba Security Squad and the Nigeria Police Force to enhance security in Anambra State.
