Agunechemba Security Squad Dismantles Gunmen Camps in Anambra

The Agunechemba Security Squad, a security outfit in Anambra State, successfully dismantled camps of suspected gunmen in Orumba North and Orumba South Local Government Areas. During the operation, they recovered a cache of arms, including two General Purpose Machine Guns and locally made rocket launchers, which were handed over to the Nigerian Army.

Mr Nweke Nweke, the Publicity Secretary of Agunechemba, stated that the operation was based on intelligence gathering and undercover work conducted over several days at major security flashpoints in Anambra South Senatorial District. Lt.-Gen.

Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the squad's operations and emphasized the Army's commitment to collaborating with Agunechemba and other security agencies to combat crime. The handover of the weapons occurred on Saturday at Agunechemba’s Director of Operations office in Awka, led by Chief Chinenye Ihenko, who represented the Governor’s Special Adviser on Community Security, Kenneth Emeakayi.

Ihenko highlighted the importance of collaboration with federal security agencies and assured the public of Agunechemba's commitment to enhancing security in the state.
