Nigerian Military Launches Operation CLEAN SWEEP IV

The Nigerian military has launched intensified operations against terrorist and armed criminal groups in Katsina and Zamfara states as part of Operation CLEAN SWEEP IV, under Operation FANSAN YAMMA. The Theatre Command, Joint Task Force North West, announced that the operation is a coordinated offensive to disrupt terrorist networks, degrade their capabilities, and prevent the infiltration and expansion of terrorist activities across the North West.

Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North West, stated that the operation includes simultaneous ground and air operations against identified threats. On August 12, troops conducted a clearance operation in Dutsinma Local Government Area, pressuring terrorists to abandon their positions.

In Zamfara State, precision air strikes targeted terrorists on motorcycles in Anka Local Government Area, neutralizing many and forcing survivors to flee. The operation also aims to dismantle the Lakurawa terrorist network and prevent their use of border areas for logistics and movement.
