Military Air Strikes Target Terrorists in Zamfara State

On Monday evening, the Nigerian military conducted air strikes in the Yankuzo community of Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State, targeting suspected terrorists. The operation was executed under Operation Fansan Yanma and involved five military aircraft.

Local sources reported that several fighters were killed, although the exact number of casualties remains unknown. Among those killed was Isiya Gurgu, identified as a close associate of the notorious bandit leader Musa Commander, who is linked to the Ado Aleru network.

The operation focused on individuals carrying weapons or dressed in military-style uniforms to minimize civilian casualties. Additionally, several other suspected terrorists were reported wounded.

Yankuzo is recognized as a stronghold for armed groups associated with the Ado Aleru network, with local residents frequently threatened by terrorist activities in the region.
