Tolu Arokodare Nominated Twice for Ajax Goal of the Month

Tolu Arokodare, a Super Eagles striker, has been nominated twice for Ajax's Goal of the Month award for October 2026 after an impressive performance where he scored four goals in six matches. His first nomination is for a goal scored against Atalanta in the UEFA Conference League on October 22, where he controlled a long pass from Youri Baas, evaded a defender, and finished past the goalkeeper.

The second nomination is for a powerful header in Ajax's 1-0 victory over AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie, where he scored in the ninth minute after rising above defender Mees de Wit to meet a cross from Abdellah Ouazane. Ajax's win over AZ Alkmaar marked their fourth consecutive victory under coach Michel Sanchez, bringing them within a point of league leaders Feyenoord.

Arokodare, who joined Ajax on a season-long loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers in July, expressed the need for the team to improve their game management without the ball.
