ASCSN Alleges IPPIS Manipulation, Petitions EFCC and ICPC

The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) has filed a petition with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) regarding alleged manipulation of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS). The union claims that a former staff member of the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, Bola Audu, in collaboration with others, compromised the association's banking information.

This resulted in check-off dues deducted from members' salaries in October 2022 and January 2023 being redirected to a fraudulent account instead of the official ASCSN account. The ASCSN described this as a significant breach of trust and an abuse of the government payroll system.

The union is currently reconciling records to ascertain the total amount diverted and has linked the allegations to an ongoing dispute with Audu, who was recently removed from the union's Lagos secretariat by a Federal High Court ruling.
