ISPON Petitions Police Over Alleged Impersonation in Kogi

The Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) has formally petitioned the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Zone 8 Command, Lokoja, regarding Mr. Sani Friday Makama's alleged impersonation and unauthorized use of the institute's name. The petition, signed by ISPON's national president, Engr. Timothy Iwagwu, claims that Makama has falsely presented himself as the chairman of ISPON in Kogi State and has been operating an office under the institute's name without authorization.

He allegedly approached various organizations in Kogi State, offering safety audits and misrepresenting himself as a safety consultant for the Kogi State Government. ISPON asserts that Makama is not a registered member of the institute and has disrupted its annual conference and member induction.

The petition calls for police investigation to prevent public deception by individuals misusing the institute's identity. ISPON was established under the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria Act 2014, emphasizing the need to protect its professional mandate.
