ASUP Threatens EFCC, ICPC Over Fund Diversion Claims

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) at the Federal Polytechnic Ngodo, Isuochi, Abia State, has threatened to escalate allegations of funds diversion to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC). The union suspects that funds earmarked for a borehole project were transferred to personal accounts, which they deem a serious breach of public financial management principles.

ASUP, led by Comrade Ador Osondu and Comrade Onyenek Ejik, has demanded an independent audit of the project funds and a full financial statement from the management, headed by Dr. Paul Darlington Ibezim. They have set a 21-day ultimatum for the management to address these issues or face formal petitions to the relevant authorities.

Additionally, the union expressed concerns over the management's failure to implement staff welfare obligations and other issues affecting staff, including non-remittance of union dues.
