ASUU Accuses Kwara Governor of Neglecting KWASU Funding, Potential Strike Looms

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has criticized Kwara Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for allegedly neglecting the Kwara State University (KWASU) by not providing subvention since 2023. ASUU Chairman at KWASU, Professor Shehu Abdulganiyu Salau, described the situation as unfortunate and unfair, claiming the Governor repeatedly failed to fulfill promises to the institution.

ASUU's national president, Professor Chris Piwuna, announced a potential 14-day warning strike due to the lack of progress in funding staff welfare. This development comes amidst a clash over the wearing of hijab at a federal staff school in Ilorin, Kwara State.
