ASUU Struggles Yield Results, Says Prof. Adamu

During an event in Abuja celebrating the 80th birthday of Emeritus Prof. Godwin Sogolo, Prof.

Abdullah Uba Adamu, the Vice Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria, remarked that the years of struggle by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) are starting to pay off. He highlighted the government's commitment to addressing some of the union's demands, which include better staff welfare and improved infrastructure within the university ecosystem.

Despite ongoing challenges, he expressed pride in the progress made over the past 46 years, noting that the struggle is not solely about salary increments but also about enhancing the overall academic environment and the quality of education offered to students. Adamu encouraged continued advocacy for better facilities, pay, and conditions, emphasizing the importance of striving for quality education in Nigerian universities.
