Ethiopian Airlines Celebrates 80 Years of Service in Nigeria

Ethiopian Airlines marked its 80th anniversary, celebrating its significant relationship with Nigeria, which commenced in 1960, coinciding with Nigeria's independence. Firiehiwot Mekonnen, the General Manager of Ethiopian Airlines in Nigeria, emphasized Nigeria's importance in the airline's history and its diverse operations, including maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services.

The airline has developed a comprehensive aviation ecosystem, encompassing passenger and cargo services, ground services, and aviation training. Yinka Folami, Vice President of the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA), commended Ethiopian Airlines for its commitment to Nigerian routes and its support during challenging times, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mose Okon Unanaowo, Regional Manager of the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), noted the airline's seamless operations in Nigeria and its friendly policies towards employees. Olatokunbo Arewa from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) also praised Ethiopian Airlines as a consistent partner over the past 80 years.
