Atiku Appoints Ugwu as Southeast Coordinator for 2027

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, has made a significant appointment ahead of the 2027 elections by naming Ugwu as the Special Assistant Coordinator for the Southeast Support Group. This announcement was made available through a statement from the Atiku Media Office in Abuja on Thursday.

Ugwu's role will encompass coordinating support across five states: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo. He is recognized for his professionalism and experience in various fields.

Ugwu, born on December 22, 1970, holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Studies, a Postgraduate Diploma in Economics, a Master’s in Economics, and a Doctorate in Petroleum Economics. His career includes serving as Special Assistant to former President Goodluck Jonathan from 2010 to 2015, and he has held various leadership roles in organizations focused on business and community development.

Ugwu is also the Executive Director of the Ben Ugwu Foundation and has received honors such as the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR).
