AWLA Announces 2026 Conference in Accra, Ghana

The African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA) International Inc. has announced its 2026 International Conference, scheduled to take place in Accra, Ghana, from November 18 to 22. The event will be held at Palms by Eagles, Airport, Accra, and is expected to attract legal practitioners, judges, policymakers, gender advocates, and development partners from across Africa and the diaspora.

The conference, themed “Better Together” with a sub-theme “AWLA Beaming Her Light On: Create, Empower, Prosper, Together in Africa,” aims to strengthen collaboration and advance women’s leadership, access to justice, and sustainable development. Mandy Demechi-Asagba, President of AWLA International Inc., will host the conference, with H.E.

Betty Mould-Iddrisu serving as Co-Host. Retired Hon.

Justice Nkemdilim Izuako chairs the International Conference Planning Committee, while Kristine Lartey leads the Local Organising Committee. The conference will feature six plenary sessions focused on legal reforms, gender equality, and socio-economic development, with over 500 participants expected.
