Nominations Open for 2026 Awolowo Leadership Awards

The Ọbafẹmi Awolọwọ Foundation has announced the opening of nominations for the 2026 editions of the Ọbafẹmi Awolọwọ Prize for Leadership and the newly introduced Ọbafẹmi Awolọwọ Sectoral Leadership Awards. Nominations for the Prize will be accepted from August 1 to October 31, 2026, while entries for the Sectoral Leadership Awards will close on September 30, 2026.

These awards aim to honor individuals whose leadership embodies the values of Chief Ọbafẹmi Awolọwọ, a prominent nationalist leader known for advocating progressive governance. The awards seek to recognize exceptional achievements and promote ethical, visionary, and people-centered leadership amidst ongoing governance challenges in Nigeria and beyond.

Nominees for the Prize must demonstrate integrity, accountability, and measurable societal impact, particularly in education, healthcare, and social justice. The Sectoral Leadership Awards will recognize exemplary leadership in four categories: Public Service, Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility, Educational Transformation, and Advocacy for the Underprivileged.

Women are especially encouraged to be nominated to promote inclusive leadership.
