Primate Ndukuba Honors Awolowo's Legacy of Service

On Monday evening, The Most Rev’d Dr Henry Ndukuba, the Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate of the Church of Nigeria, led a visit to the Ikenne residence of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and his wife, Mama HID Awolowo. This visit was part of the activities for the 15th General Synod of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, hosted by the Diocese of Remo at Our Saviour’s Anglican Church in Ogun State.

Primate Ndukuba described Awolowo as a leader who lived sacrificially for others, leaving a legacy of service. He urged current leaders to adopt selfless service principles and reflect on their responsibilities to the people.

Drawing parallels between Awolowo's life and that of Jesus Christ, Ndukuba emphasized the need for leaders to cultivate genuine relationships with God. He expressed concern over the diminishing emphasis on history in education, stating that understanding the past is crucial for future direction.

Ndukuba prayed that Awolowo's example would inspire contemporary leaders to embrace selflessness and impactful service.
