Fusengbuwa Ruling House Removes Leaders Over Irregularities

The Fusengbuwa Ruling House of Ijebu-Ode has removed three prominent leaders: Chairman Chief Lateef Owoyemi, Vice Chairman Professor Fassy Adetokunbo Yusuff, and Deputy Vice Chairman Prince Adedokun Ajidagba. This decision followed the adoption of a report from a nine-member fact-finding committee that investigated allegations of financial inducement, document manipulation, and other irregularities in the selection process for the next Awujale of Ijebuland.

The committee, chaired by Prince Olusegun Olusoga, submitted a 25-page report after being constituted two months prior due to petitions against the three leaders. Only Owoyemi appeared before the committee, while Yusuff and Ajidagba did not attend.

The committee found a lack of transparency and due process in the candidate selection, leading to a unanimous decision for their removal to restore confidence in the process. The ruling house plans to communicate this decision to the government and initiate the selection of new leaders.
