ADC Rejects Lawal's Prediction on Atiku's 2027 Election

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed Babachir Lawal's prediction that its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, would lose the 2027 election, labeling it as a personal prayer rather than a fact-based assessment. Chille Igbawua, the Special Adviser to the ADC National Chairman on Research, Policy and Strategy, made these remarks during an interview on ARISE NEWS.

Lawal had claimed that a joint ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso would have a 70% chance of winning, while President Bola Tinubu would have a 50% chance, and Atiku would score “zero.” Igbawua criticized Lawal's lack of analytical basis for his prediction, stating that the ADC is focused on developing a credible electoral platform and has a robust manifesto. He also addressed Peter Obi's involvement with the ADC, clarifying that Obi joined after the opposition coalition had already selected the ADC as its platform.

Igbawua defended the party's primary process, asserting it complied with relevant laws and regulations.
