Babajimi Benson's Impact on Ikorodu's Development

Babajimi Benson, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos, has demonstrated a significant impact through his legislative and community development efforts. He has sponsored 58 bills, including the DICON Amendment Act and the Electr Amendment Act, while serving as the Chairman of the House Committee on Defence, ensuring national security oversight.

His initiatives include the construction of 65 roads, installation of solar streetlights, and the establishment of an 80-bed mother-child hospital in Imota. Additionally, he has launched a food bank providing monthly support to families for eight years and has established a community radio station, IKD 106.1FM, to amplify citizens' voices.

Benson has also opened a modern ICT center and funded educational grants for vocational training for local youth. His professional background includes serving as a legal officer at the United Nations in New York and holding senior positions at Ecobank PLC and Lead Bank PLC.

In 2025, he was honored with the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) for his contributions.
