Babcock University Equips Students with Employability Skills

Babcock University, located in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, held an alumni-led career development session aimed at preparing final-year students for the labor market. The event, organized by the Alumni Connectivity and Career Services Unit, featured accomplished alumni, human resource experts, and industry leaders who provided practical skills and strategies for employability.

Dr. Jonathan Dangana, Associate Vice President for Alumni Connectivity and Philanthropy, described the initiative as a flagship program to enhance student competitiveness, emphasizing the need for graduates to possess both academic excellence and practical skills.

The session included discussions on current recruitment trends, CV tailoring, personal branding, and workplace ethics. Students participated in mock interviews using the STAR model to improve their interview techniques.

Dr. Philip Babalola, CEO of UVest, encouraged continuous digital learning and effective use of AI, while Heavens Obule, Founder of Take 1 Production, advised students to maintain authenticity in their presentations.
