Dele Momodu Urges Opposition Unity for Osun Election

Dele Momodu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and publisher of Ovation Magazine, called on opposition parties in Osun State to unite in support of Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party ahead of the August 16 governorship election. In a statement on X, Momodu emphasized that unity among opposition parties is crucial to prevent the All Progressives Congress (APC) from taking advantage of divisions to rig the election.

He expressed disappointment that the opposition had not formed a stronger coalition, despite the ADC previously having prominent candidates in the 2023 presidential election. Momodu stressed the need for opposition parties to prioritize collective goals over individual ambitions, stating that the political climate in Osun necessitates immediate alignment behind Adeleke.

He described the current situation as a "theatre of war" due to the APC's actions, urging opposition stakeholders to adopt a practical approach to ensure a united front against the APC.
