Niger State Governor Bago Declares War on Bandits

Niger State Governor Mohammed Bago has publicly declared a war on bandits and warned informants during a video clip published by Gaskiya New Hausa. He made this announcement on Thursday, emphasizing the need to confront banditry that disrupts educational and agricultural activities in the state.

During a visit to Borgu Local Government Area, Bago met with the emir to discuss strategies to combat these threats. He disclosed that the state government has received support from the federal government and foreign partners to strengthen operations against terrorism.

Bago urged residents to assist by providing information to security agencies, stating that technology is in place to monitor communications linked to criminal activities. He warned that anyone harboring bandits or providing information to them would be held accountable.

Bago stressed that the insecurity has severely impacted education and agriculture, causing students to miss school and hindering agricultural productivity.
