Nigeria Out of 2026 BAL Playoffs; Eight Teams Qualify

The Basketball Africa League (BAL) has confirmed that Nigeria will not advance to the playoffs for the 2026 championship, following the conclusion of the conference phase. Eight teams have qualified to compete for the continental title in Kigali, Rwanda.

The playoff format will consist of quarterfinal fixtures played in a best-of-two series, transitioning to a straight knockout system for the semifinals and finals. The winners of the quarterfinals will advance to the semifinals, which will be a win-or-go-home contest.
