Bala Mohammed Advocates Peaceful Campaigns for 2027 Elections

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State called for peaceful and issue-based campaigns ahead of the 2027 elections. Speaking in Bauchi after returning from an official engagement in Abuja, he urged political parties and their supporters to conduct their campaigns lawfully and without personal attacks.

He emphasized that his party, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), would strictly adhere to the guidelines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and encouraged others to do the same. The governor expressed concern over the destruction of his campaign posters by political opponents but stated he would not misuse his authority to retaliate.

He highlighted the importance of maintaining Bauchi's reputation for peace and urged traditional rulers and security agencies to remain impartial during the election period. Mohammed commended the peaceful conduct of some political parties and expressed hope for continued self-restraint among all stakeholders to prevent violence and ensure a peaceful political environment.
