Bala Mohammed Warns Opposition Against Federal Reliance

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed warned opposition politicians on Monday against relying on Federal Government support to secure electoral victories. After casting his vote at Model Central Primary School in Alkaleri Local Government Area during the Bauchi State local government elections, he criticized the decision of some opposition parties to boycott the elections, calling it a mistake.

Mohammed advised these parties to participate and test their popularity among voters instead of expecting federal assistance. He referenced the recent Osun State election, where Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won against All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Oyebamiji, securing 511,067 votes to Oyebamiji's 444,815.

Mohammed stated that the outcome demonstrated that electoral success cannot solely depend on federal influence. His comments followed Adeleke's reaffirmation of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's bid for a second term in 2027, highlighting the importance of democratic governance.
