Bauchi Governor Commends Peaceful Local Government Elections

Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, commended the orderly, peaceful, and transparent conduct of the Local Government Council elections conducted by the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) across the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state. He made these remarks shortly after casting his vote at the Bakin dutse Polling Unit, Ward 008, Dan Ward, Duguri, in Alkaleri Local Government Area.

Accompanied by his wife and entourage, Mohammed participated in the voting process and observed the election's conduct. He praised BASIEC and the election officials for their efforts in ensuring a smooth electoral process.

The governor reaffirmed his administration's commitment to supporting a democratic process that allows citizens to exercise their voting rights. He also criticized some political parties for withdrawing from the election shortly before it took place, stating that such actions could hinder citizen participation.

Mohammed urged voters to remain peaceful and vigilant during the voting and counting processes and called on all stakeholders to respect the election outcomes for the sake of peace in Bauchi State.
